It has been raining sequels in Kollywood for a while, and the horror-comedy Yaamiruka Bayamey is the latest to join the list. Producer Elred Kumar, who recently celebrated six years of the film, announced the sequel.

“The success of YB enlightened us that audiences are always ready to welcome unique content irrespective of what the budget is. Filled with more hope, we have now started working on the initial stage of preparations for Yaamirukka Bayamey 2 and will make official announcements soon,” said Elred, in his statement.

The 2014 horror-comedy, directed by Deekay, starred Krishna, Oviyaa, Rupa Manjari, Karunakaran, Aadhav Kannadasan, and Mayilsamy.

Meanwhile, Elred Kumar is also producing a film directed by Vetri Maaran.

The cast and crew of the Yaamirukka Bayamaey sequel are yet to be announced. The film, however, is expected to go on floors soon after the lockdown ends.
