The shooting of Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday's upcoming film, Liger had been suspended in the wake of the Covid-19 lockdown after director Puri Jagannadh and the crew  had completed a 40-day schedule in Mumbai. The director, who was stranded in Mumbai due to the lockdown, is planning to shift the production to Hyderabad as the financial capital has become a Covid-19 epicenter.

"As Mumbai remains the worst-affected city in the country, Puri is considering shooting the balance portions in a specially-made set in Hyderabad. He is working on the blueprint of the sets that replicate Mumbai, the original backdrop of the film. In all likelihood, the team will resume the shoot in the city to ensure a summer release," says a source.

Presented by Karan Johar, Liger showcases Vijay as a martial artist with a stammer. Besides Telugu, the martial arts drama will also be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
