A few days back, Trisha had posted a video on Twitter of director Gautham Menon giving her instructions to shoot a video. The post garnered a lot of interest. The latest is that the actor-director duo has teamed up for a short film, which seems to be a spin-off of their hit film, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. The teaser of the short film, titled Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn, was unveiled earlier today.

In the teaser, Trish is seen reprising her popular character Jessie, and seems to be on a phone call with Karthik. Speaking of the lockdown, she is urging Karthik to write, motivating him to stay positive during the lockdown. “There’s beauty in your writing. People will always want good content,” she says to Karthik, as the teaser ends with the lines, ‘There is hope.’

The 2010 romantic film, co-starring Simbu in the lead, was one of Gautham Menon’s biggest hits. A sequel has been in works for quite some time as well.
