Director Ajay Bhupathi has been planning a sequel to his 2018 romantic action drama, RX 100. Reports suggest that the sequel will also be inspired by a true story.

RX 100, released in 2018, featured Karthikeya Gummakonda and Payal Rajput in the lead roles. It was inspired by the true story of a 33-year-old man who passed away in 2014. RX 100 2 will also be based on true incidents that happened a few years ago in the Telugu States.

Ajay Bhupathi, in his Instagram live interaction, confirmed the news saying that the sequel will roll out soon after he completes his ambitious film, Maha Samudram starring Sharwanand. While the cast and crew are yet to be finalised, speculations are rife that the sequel will reunite Karthikeya and Payal as Shiva and Indu.

RX 100 is a story of a villager, who falls madly in love with a city-bred girl and how his life turns upside down in the process. The film is currently being remade in Tamil and Hindi. While the Tamil version sees Aadi Pinisetty reprising Karthikeya's role, the Hindi version titled Tadap will have Ahan Shetty in the lead.
