Coronavirus is having a drastic impact across all the industries and cinema is no exception. Filmmakers across the world are opting for digital platforms to release the movie as theatres remain shut indefinitely. Even in Kollywood as the films are getting postponed, filmmakers are starting to consider digital platforms as an option.

Karthick Naren, the director of recent gangster drama Mafia, asked his fans whether he should release his long-pending Naragasooran digitally, and about 87 per cent of his fans have said 'yes' to the idea.

Naragasooran was supposed to be Karthick's second film but it was delayed due to some production issues, which also led to a tiff between the film's former producer Gautham Menon and Karthick.

The film stars Aravind Swami, Sundeep Kishan, Shriya Saran, and Indrajith Sukumaran in lead roles. According to the director, the film, which has music by Ron Ethan Yohann, also takes place in the universe of his debut venture Dhuruvangal 16.
