Pa Ranjith's next directorial venture with Arya and Dinesh in the lead roles will feature actor Dushara, who made her Tamil debut with Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari, as the female lead. Dushara will be paired opposite Arya as a bold character from North Madras.

The sports-drama, reportedly tiled as Salpetta, is based on the boxing culture that is prevalent in North Madras. "I play the role of a North Madras girl. Ranjith writes such beautiful roles for female characters and mine is one such. I play a bold and strong character," she is quoted as saying.

Bankrolled by Shreya Sri Movies and co-written by Pettai novelist Thamizh Prabha along with Ranjith, the film features music by Santhosh Narayanan. The cast also includes Magizh Thirumeni, Kalaiyarasan, John Kokken, and Santhosh Prathap, among others.
