Mohan G, director of Draupathi, which courted controversy for portraying a certain section of people in bad light, has announced his next project on social media.

The upcoming film will also star Richard Rishi in the lead role, according to the director. This marks the third collaboration of Mohan G and Richard Rishi, as the actor was also part of the director's first film, Palaya Vannarapettai. 

Mohan G wrote on Facebook, "Uploading my next 'Surgical Strike project' with Mr. Richard Rishi. The title will be revealed on a good day soon." It is unclear whether the untitled movie, like Hindi project Uri: Surgical Strike, will be based on the operation carried out by Indian army against Pakistan in 2016.

Draupathi, which has turned out to be the calling card of Mohan G, also starred Sheela Rajkumar and Karunas in important roles. The film was based on the marriage scam that happened in Tamil Nadu in 2013.
