Actor Vishal is turning director for his upcoming film Thupparivaalan 2 after the unceremonious exit of Mysskin from the project. It is said that Mysskin demanded Rs 5 crore as salary for the project, in addition to several other conditions, which did not go down well with Vishal.

The actor-producer has finally made an elaborate statement about the exit of Mysskin and the reason behind it. He has also confirmed that he is going to direct Thupparivaalan 2, thus marking his directorial debut.

Vishal, in the statement, said that he is still wondering why a director would abandon a project after spending about Rs 13 crore of the producer’s money.

He added, “Could it be because I pointed out the mistakes of the director during filming? Or because I requested day-night shoots to be held to cut costs. I don’t know.”

Vishal also said, “I am not writing this to tarnish the image of any person. The only purpose of this statement is to prevent other producers from undergoing such hardships.”

The actor revealed that he was luckily able to salvage the situation since he knows the nuances of film production, and has now decided to direct the film himself.

Meanwhile, the list of conditions laid out by director Mysskin has found its way to social media. The Psycho director demanded the copyrights for the Hindi version, and the rights for making the sequels and prequels of Thupparivaalan.

Among several other demands, the director also asked Vishal Film Factory to pay his office rent till the film is completed.

The first look of Thupparivaalan 2 will be unveiled today at 6 pm. Other than Vishal, the film also stars Prasanna in a supporting role. Thupparivaalan is inspired by the iconic character, Sherlock Holmes.
