Dracula film in development with Karyn Kusama as director at Blumhouse Productions

The script of the untitled film is reportedly being written by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay

A Dracula movie is in development at the Blumhouse Productions under the direction of Karyn Kusama, famous for her work in Jennifer's Body.

The news comes following the recent success of The Invisible Man, starring Elisabeth Moss and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. The untitled film is not set at a studio and its script is reportedly being written by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay.

The plot is based on an 1897 novel by Bram Stoke of the same name. In the story, Dracula, a vampire, moves from Transylvania to England and engages in a face-off with Professor Abraham Van Helsing.

Over the years, actors Claes Bang, Bela Lugosi, Gary Oldman, and Luke Evans have all played the vampire on screen.
