The disciplinary committee of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) has elevated its vice-president Banerjee aka Maganti Venu Banerjee as the acting president of MAA. The move comes after its incumbent president Naresh VK went on a 41-day leave from Wednesday.

The association has been grappling with the issue for the last few months after its former vice-president Rajsekhar and general secretary Jeevitha leveled allegations against Naresh for creating a monopoly with his actions.

Recently, Jeevitha and 15 other executive committee (EC) members wrote a 9-page letter to the disciplinary committee presided over by actors Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Krishnam Raju, Murali Mohan, and Jayasudha, seeking action against Naresh for violating the rules of MAA.

According to reports, Chiranjeevi and Mohan Babu were upset with Naresh for his inability to resolve the differences in MAA. Instead of sacking him, the disciplinary committee has suggested he go on leave and the actor obliged.
