We had earlier reported that Vaibhav and Venkat Prabhu have teamed up for a cop film named Lock Up. Now, we hear that the film will get a direct digital release. The streaming rights for the film have been acquired by ZEE5, and the release date is expected to be announced soon. 

Directed by debutant SG Charles, and produced by Nithin Sathyaa, Lock Up features Vani Bhojan as the female lead.

With the theatres closed for more than 100 days now due to the coronavirus pandemic, several makers are opting for digital releases. Notably, Vaibhav’s earlier release RK Nagar was one of the first films to hit streaming platforms directly.  Apart from Ponmagal Vandhal and Penguin, which premiered on Amazon Prime recently, films like Andhagaaram, Andava Kanom, Vaa Deal, Cocktail, and Danny have also been confirmed for direct digital releases.
