Director Vijay Chandar, who made his debut with Simbu's Vaalu in 2015, is said to be joining hands with the actor again for a new film. Like the director's previous films, the untitled project is said to be a commercial entertainer.

Meanwhile, it was announced a while ago that Simbu would join hands with Mysskin for a new film. Official announcements about both the Mysskin and Vijay Chandar projects are expected post the lockdown.

Simbu was shooting for Venkat Prabhu's Maanadu, alongside Kalyani Priyadarshan, SA Chandrasekar, SJ Suryah, and Bharathiraja before the industry shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Vijay Chandar's last film was Sangathamizhan, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Raashi Khanna, and Nivetha Pethuraj.
