Varun Dhawan shared a new poster of his upcoming film, Coolie No. 1, today. In the poster, his character is seen wearing a mask, leading to speculation if the film will incorporate a COVID-19 angle. Others have wondered if the film will arrive in theatres or is being readied for an OTT release.

“This is exactly how we'll go to the theatres to watch Coolie No. 1,” a fan wrote.

Another commented: “Gunjan saxena, gulabo sitabo, shakuntala devi theatres m nhi aayi, to coolie no 1 se bhi umeed nhi hai.” (Gujan Saxena, Gulabo Sitabo, Sakuntala Devi didn’t arrive in theatres, so no hope from Coolie No. 1.)

Directed by David Dhawan, Coolie No. 1 is a remake of his 1995 hit starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. The new film pairs Varun with Sara Ali Khan. Actors Paresh Rawal, Jaaved Jafferi, Sikha Talsania and Rajpal Yadav are also part of the cast.

The film was expected to hit theatres on May 1 but has been postponed due to the lockdown.
