Upcoming sci-fi thriller Youth, helmed by debutant director Brett Marty, will star former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan in the lead role. The film is based on Marty's short of the same name, released in 2016.

The script was penned by Marty along with Josh Izenberg and Amelia Whitcomb. Polhemus, Paul Schiff and Martin Brennan will produce the project.

The 67-year-old actor will play the role of an aged engineer. Just before he is set to retire, his company offers him a procedure to help reverse his body back to his prime age. However, the process fails, and challenges ensue.

Some of Brosnan's upcoming works include EurovisionFalse Positive and Cinderella.
