We had previously reported that Vijay Sethupathi is working on a film titled Ka Pae Ranasingam directed by debutant filmmaker Virumandi. Reports surfaced online recently that the film, also starring Aishwarya Rajesh, will take the Ponmagal Vandhal route and opt for a direct OTT platform release and thereby, skipping a theatrical release. When we got in touch with the director, he brushed off such articles as mere rumours and confirmed that the film will have a theatrical release soon.

"We were discussing the OTT rights for the film so that it can have a release in those platforms post the theatrical run. That news has made its way online though, ended up conveying something totally different. Ka Pae Ranasingam will have a proper theatrical run as it's a film made for the families to enjoy in the big screens," says Virumandi. "We have got two days worth of shooting left as well as dubbing and recording. We released a teaser because we wanted to let the audience know that the film is on the verge of completion."
