Actor Nikhil will next be seen in Karthikeya 2, a sequel to his 2014 super hit mystery thriller Karthikeya. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, who also directed the first part, it will have the Arjun Suravaram actor graduate from being a medical student in the original to a doctor this time around.

The production house, People Media Factory, took to Twitter to announce the news along with a hand-painted poster of Nikhil that reads 'Vaidyo Narayano Hari'.

"Not all heroes wear capes. Our heroes are those braveheart health workers who are fighting this dreadful virus day and night sacrificing so much. These are not just our wishes to our Karthikeya 2 hero Nikhil, who plays a doctor, but salutes to all such heroes," wrote the production house.

Set in the backdrop of Kumbh Mela, Karthikeya 2, which will be shot in Telugu and later dubbed into Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, has Swathi and Anupama Parameswaran as the female leads.

The mystery thriller will pick up from where the first part ended and also trace some incidents dating back 5000 years. Nikhil is going for a makeover, and we hear, the actor will be seen in a beefed-up avatar with a six-pack in the film.
