Karthi, who was recently seen in Thambi, seems to be on a signing spree. It is reported that he will be working on a film with his Komban director, Muthaiah. This project is expected to be bankrolled by Suriya under his 2D Entertainment banner. 

Just like Muthiah's previous directorial ventures, this project too is expected to be a rural film. Confirmation of this news and details about the rest of the cast and crew are expected soon. 

Apart from Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, Karthi also has a number of films in the pipeline, including Remo-director Bakkiyaraj Kannan's upcoming film and PS Mithran's follow-up to Hero. 

Karthi will be commencing work on the Muthaiah project after finishing the various commitments in hand.
