The Marvelous Mrs Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan to star in sci-fi film Distant

Distant, directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, is about an asteroid miner crashing onto an unknown planet

Rachel Brosnahan, best known for playing the titular character in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, will play the lead role in the upcoming sci-fi comedy, Distant.

The film, also featuring Broadway actor Anthony Ramos, will be directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon from a script by Spenser Cohen, according to reports.

The story revolves around an asteroid miner who crash-lands on an alien planet and must contend with the challenges of his new surroundings while making his way across the harsh terrain to the only other survivor, a woman who is trapped in her escape pod.

Distant, which hails from Amblin Partners, will be produced by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, and Anna Halberg.

Speck and Gordon will also serve as executive producers, along with Jonathan Rothbart and Matt Hirsch.
