Kavithalaya issues notice clarifying on the confusion over the remake rights of Netrikann

CE Features

Famous actor, director and screenplay writer Visu had recently alleged in a video that Kavithalaya Productions, headed by Pushpa Kandaswamy, has sold the remake rights of Netrikann without his consent.

As a response, Kavithalaya released a press statement earlier today, calling the allegations of Visu baseless and clarifying that they have only sold the title rights of Netrikann. The statement read, "The right to use only the title, Netrikkan, has been given to a third party and this right exclusively belongs to Kavithalayaa."

The entire confusion started when Dhanush expressed interest in remaking the hit 1981 film. Following that, rumours started circulating that the pre-production work of the project had begun and that Keerthy Suresh would be reprising the role played by her mother Menaka in the original.
