Maidaan release date shifted to December 11

The release date of Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has been shifted to December 11, 2020. The film was earlier expected to arrive on November 27. 

Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Maidaan is based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962). It stars Ajay in the role of legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who led India into the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. The selection is regarded as a high point in Indian football. 

Maidaan was shot in Mumbai, Lucknow, and Kolkata. The film stars Priya Mani as the female lead. Gajraj Rao and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh are also a part of the cast. 

Maidaan is produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta. The screenplay is written by Saiwyn Quadras, with dialogues by Ritesh Shah. 

Ajay Devgn was recently seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The actor’s upcoming releases are Bhuj: The Pride of India, Sooryavanshi, and Golmaal 5. He’s also a part of SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
