Malayalam cinema has lost another brilliant character actor. Anil Nedumangad has passed away. The cause of death is said to be drowning. The actor was reportedly taking a bath at Malankara dam at Thodupuzha when strong currents wreaked havoc.

Anil was in the middle of shooting a movie when the incident happened. Though he was brought out of the water and taken to a hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Anil, who hailed from Nedumangad, began his career in television before moving to films. He made his first breakthrough appearance in Rajeev Ravi's Njan Steve Lopez and went on to do impressive character roles in films such as Kammattipadam, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, and Paapam Cheyyathavar Kalleriyatte.
