Ant-Man star Michelle Pfeiffer has confirmed that the third film in the series, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is all set for release in 2022. Pfeiffer had portrayed Janet Van Dyne (the original Wasp) in the second Ant-Man film, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers: Endgame.

Janet, who was the original superhero Wasp before her daughter Hope took the mantel over in that film, disappeared and turned to dust at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp due to the events of Avengers: Infinity War. The character was subsequently resurrected by the Avengers in Avengers: Endgame

Pfeiffer took to Instagram to share a poster of the film with the caption: "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Coming 2022!"

The announcement comes shortly after Disney's Investor Day announcements, during which many new MCU films and TV shows were revealed for 2021 and beyond.

For the third film, lead cast members Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will be returning, as well as director Peyton Reid. The announcement also hinted at the introduction of classic comic villain Kang the Conqueror (played by Jonathan Majors).
