Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions, Little Red Car Films, and Golden Ration Films are coming together for a Tamil film titled Writer. The film will feature actor-director Samuthirakani in the lead role and will be directed by debutant Franklin Jacob.

Pa Ranjith announced on Twitter that the film went on floors today. 

Govind Vasantha, who composed music for 96, is teaming up with Neelam Productions for the first time for Writer. The other cast and crew details are yet to be announced. 

Neelam Productions has already bankrolled films like Pariyerum Perumal and Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu. Currently, the production house is also co-producing Kalaiyarasan's Kuthirai Vaal. 

Meanwhile, Pa Ranjith is shooting for his upcoming directorial venture Sarpatta, which features Arya in the lead role.
