The title of Pa Ranjith's upcoming film starring Arya in the lead has been revealed as Sarpatta Parambarai. The first look poster, featuring the actor as a boxer in a period setup, was also released earlier today. It may be noted that the film was earlier referred to as Salpetta.

Sharing the first look poster of the film Ranjith wrote, 

It can be inferred from Ranjith's tweet that Arya plays a character named Kabilan, who takes up boxing to gain recognition and respect from others. 

The sports drama, also starring Kalaiyarasan, John Kokken, Dushara, and Santhosh Prathap, has music by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Murli G. Writer Tamizh Prabha has co-written the script of Sarpatta Parambrai, which is jointly produced by Ranjith's Neelam Productions and K9 Studios.
