This Is Us star Justin Hartley to headline The Noel Diary for Netflix

Justin Hartley, known for his role in This Is Us, is set to headline Netflix's upcoming adaptation of The Noel Diary.

The film will be helmed by Charles Shyer and the script is being penned by him along with Rebecca Connor and David Golden. Shyer is popular for his work in Father of the Bride.

Bonnie Bedelia and Treat Williams have also been cast in the film. 

The film, based on Richard Paul Evans's bestselling novel, revolves around Jacob Turner, an author who returns home for Christmas to settle his estranged mother's property and finds a diary. It unravels several secrets about his past and another woman's. Together, they both go on a journey and find unexpected truths.

Timothy O Johnson, Margret Huddleston and Stephanie Slack are attached to produce while Hartley and Norman Stephens will serve as executive producers.
