It was already known that GV Prakash Kumar had signed a film named Kadhalikka Yarumillai, directed by debutant Kamal Prakash. This film also stars Raiza Wilson and Kausalya. Now, it has been revealed that Kadhalikka Yarumillai is based on Kamal Prakash’s famous short film, Highway Kadhali. 

Comali director Pradeep Ranganathan, who played the lead in Highway Kadhali, revealed this in a throwback post on Twitter. “Acted in Highway Kadhali short film (2017) directed by Kamal Prakash. This is now being made as a feature film starring GV Prakash sir and Raiza Wilson,” he wrote. Pradeep also shared a link to the short film. 

Kadhalikka Yarumillai was originally scheduled for release this year. However, with the coronavirus outbreak and the resultant lockdown, the current release plan of the film is unclear.
