The shooting for Ikk, the directorial debut of Jiivi-writer Babu Tamizh, began today. Ikk features debutant Yogesh, Guru Somasundaram, Anika Vikhraman, and Aadukalam Naren in pivotal roles. While most of the film will be shot in Chennai, a few key sequences will be shot abroad.  

Ikk, whose look was unveiled recently, will document the story of a promising football player who is injured grievously on his first match. The incident pushes the protagonist, who consequently develops mental health issues, to investigate what led to the incident. 

Babu Tamizh has also written Ikk, and this is his second script after Jiivi, which proved to be a sleeper hit. Apart from this, the writer-filmmaker will be collaborating with his Jiivi-director VJ Gopinath for a film starring Vishnu Vishal. This film will be written by Babu and directed by VJ Gopinath. Vishnu Vishal is set to produce this untitled project, as well as play the lead in it.
