On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Batman, DC has unveiled the next creative team to tackle its comic.

It was announced in May that current writer Tom King would be ending his run early. He had begun when DC launched Rebirth in 2016 and had planned to write through issue 100. Likely due to a decline in sales, King will be ending his run early after his current City of Bane storyline. James Tynion IV is taking over King’s position from January, according to reports.

At that point, a new creative team will be brought in for a relaunch. This won’t be the first time Tynion has taken on the Dark Knight. He was the writer of the Detective Comics run that launched the “DC Universe Rebirth” era of the long-running series, and had previously co-written Batman Eternal and Batman and Robin Eternal with Snyder, his current Justice League writing partner.

According to reports, more information about the update will be released soon.
