Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez’s action-thriller Drive will not have a theatrical release and will instead go straight to Netflix, the makers announced on Friday.

The film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Dharma Productions, was completed early last year. The makers had initially set the film for a September 2018 release, but later shifted it to June 28, 2019.

However, as confirmed by producer Karan Johar on social media, the film will be headed for a digital release in the coming weeks.

Drive also stars Sapna Pabbi, Boman Irani and Pankaj Tripathi and Vikramjeet Virk. Sushant calls the film a 'high-octane' heist thriller.

Jacqueline Fernandez was last seen in Race 3 and in the special dance number Bad Boy in Saaho. Sushant, on the other hand, played the lead in the recently-released Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore. The campus drama has fared well at the box-office. The actor’s upcoming release is Dil Bechara, an adaptation of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars.
