Director Indrajith Lankesh, who is currently helming the biopic of Shakeela starring Richa Chadda, will be making his Hollywood debut soon.

The Kannada filmmaker, who is known for the films Monalisa and Aishwarya, is gearing up to direct a film based on a Muslim woman. “It all happened during the making of Shakeela. My friend had come up with an interesting script and I sent it to an agent in Los Angeles. It eventually reached a top Oscar-nominated actor in Hollywood, whose name I can't reveal now. She liked the script and has even given the green signal,” says Indrajith.

The project will be backed by a big production house and Indrajit will be off to Los Angeles in October to sign the deal. “I am not allowed to reveal details until I sign the agreement. The announcement will be made after the paperwork is done,” says the director, who is thrilled about the new experience.

The film will be shot in Morocco as Indrajith feels it's the best place to shoot a story about a Muslim woman.

Asked about the status of his Bollywood film, Shakeela, Indrajit says the film has been completed and will be sent to the censor board soon. He plans to start the promotions for the film in a few weeks.
