Mukesh Hegde, the producer of the Tulu films Basra and Are Marler, is now foraying into Kannada with Lungi. The film, directed by the duo Arjun Lewis and Akshith Shetty, will apparently have a heavy flavour of South Canara culture. The trailer, which was released last week, teases a  romcom with a message for the youth.

Debutant Pranav Hegde, Ahalya Suresh, and Radhika Rao play the leads in Lungi. Apart from them, the film has actors like Prakash Tuminadu, Deepak Rai, VJ Vineet, Karthik, and Roopa Vakade.

Besides directing Lungi, Arjun Lewis has also written the screenplay and dialogues. The film has cinematography by Rio P John and music by Prasad K Shetty.

The makers are planning to release Lungi's audio this month. The film, distributed by Jayanna Combines, will hit the screens on October 11.
