Speculations were rife that Kajal Aggarwal, last seen in Ranarangam, was turning producer with an action-thriller, to be directed by Awe-fame Prashanth Varma. However, the actor has clarified that she has no intention to produce films now and is content with the way her acting career is shaping up.

"Prashanth Varma pitched a storyline which impressed me a lot. I asked him to come with a bound script, but things did not seem as favourable as they were initially, and the project is not taking off. Right now, I have no interest in producing films. I am happy with my acting career and would like to continue doing good films," says Kajal.

The actor will next be seen in Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2, an action-thriller directed by Shankar. She will join the sets of this sequel to the 1996 film next month. "I'm essaying a powerful character which required me to undergo some physical training to look strong for that part," adds Kajal.

Reports suggest that Kajal will be seen as an octogenarian woman and Kamal's wife, Amrithavalli (a role which was incidentally played by Sukanya in the original).

Apart from Indian 2, Kajal has the Tamil film Paris Paris, a remake of 2014 Hindi comedy-drama Queen; a Telugu-English bilingual titled The Call Centre; and a Hindi action-crime film named Mumbai Saga, in the pipeline.
