Bharathiraja’s Old Man is Meendum Oru Mariyathai

While the makers announced the title change, they haven’t revealed the reason behind the shift

It is known that Bharathiraja is part of a film named Old Man. However, the makers have now announced that the film will henceforth be called Meendum Oru Mariyathai.

While the makers announced the title change, they haven’t revealed the reason behind the shift.  The title change is quite interesting as the film explored the relationship between an old man and a younger woman, something that Bharathiraja had previously touched upon in his 1985 film Mudhal Mariyathai.

While Bharathiraja will be playing the old man himself, Rasi Nakshatra has played the female lead with Mounika in a supporting role. The film has been directed by Bharathiraja as well. Notably, the 1985 film Mudhal Mariyathai starring Shivaji Ganesan, Radha, was a huge hit for its unique relationship dynamics.
