Simbu back in Maanaadu? What transpired at the TNPC meeting?

CE Features

Earlier this year, Simbu was dropped from Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu after he had allegedly been the cause for the numerous delays in starting the film's shoot. After almost a year of the announcement of the film, which was supposed to star Kalyani Priyadarshan, as the lead, Suresh Kamachi announced in August that he will soon resume the film with Venkat Prabhu and another leading star.

Simbu, meanwhile, flew to Thailand, not before announcing a film titled Maghaa Maanaadu, which will be produced by his own production banner.

After several failed attempts at resolution, a meeting, to sort out the issue once for all, was held yesterday in the Producers Council, which was presided by senior producers, Sathyajyothi Thiagarajan, Sivasakthi Pandian, K. Rajan, K. Balu, and JSK Sathish.  Simbu's mother Usha Rajendhar, who attended the meeting on behalf of her son, was reportedly involved in some heated arguments with producer Suresh Kamachi.  Usha apparently maintained that Simbu's dates had not been utilized effectively by the production house. Suresh Kamatchi had, however, accused Simbu of not turning up for the shoot, even after receiving an advance amount of rupees 2 crores.

Sources suggest that an amicable solution was reached after Usha Rajendhar gave a guarantee that Simbu will turn up for the shoot of Maanaadu regularly at 10 am and work till 6 pm, on a daily basis. It is also said that a new agreement is being drafted by Thiagarajan, and once Suresh Kamachi and Simbu sign it, the film will go on floors immediately.

Notably, Venkat Prabhu had earlier informed the council that he's ready to resume working on the film with Simbu, if the Chekka Chivantha Vaanam actor co-operates.
