We had recently told you that director Siva will likely soon begin work on Rajinikanth's next after Darbar and that the filmmaker's previously announced project with Suriya for KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green Productions has been temporarily put on hold. Following that, Sun Pictures announced today via Twitter handle that it will be bankrolling the film, which is being tentatively referred to as Thalaivar 168.

It's notable that Sun Pictures also bankrolled Rajini's last film Petta and his 2010 sci-fi project Enthiran. The Siva-directorial will mark their third collaboration with the Superstar. Though the cast, crew, and title of the film are yet to be revealed, it is widely speculated that Viswasam's music composer D Imman has been roped in for the project.

Meanwhile, it is said that Suriya, who is awaiting the release of Soorarai Pottru, will work on a different project during the dates he had originally allocated for the Siva project.
