It was announced a while ago that director Siva will be helming Suriya's next after Soorarai Pottru for KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green Productions. However, speculations also began to circulate that the Viwasam filmmaker had got the nod from Rajinikanth for a project with him after AR Murugadoss' Darbar. 

Now, several sources state that the Rajini project has been confirmed and that the Kaala actor has personally spoken to Suriya, requesting him to change his call sheet so Siva can work on his project first.

Suriya is said to have accepted the request and he is expected to work on a new project in the interim.
