It was earlier reported that four leading Tamil directors - Vetrimaaran, Vignesh Shivan, Gautham Menon, and Sudha Kongara - are coming together for a Netflix anthology. Now, a source close to one of the four directors has confirmed that the theme of the anthology is honour killing. However, an official announcement of the project is yet to be made.

The upcoming movie will be similar in form to the Hindi film Lust Stories, which was directed by Zoya Akthar, Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, and Dibakar Banerjee.

Sudha Kongara is currently busy with Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru. On the other hand, Vignesh Shivan is working on his next with Sivakarthikeyan, and Gautham Menon is gearing up to release his long-delayed film Enai Nokki Paayum Thota in November. Meanwhile, Vetrimaaran's latest release Asuran, which deals with the issue of caste discrimination, is running succesfully in theatres.

The Netflix anthology is expected to go on floors once the directors wrap up their ongoing commitments.

It is notable that Netflix India is facing huge backlash from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for producing shows and films that are critical of the country and Hindu symbols.
