Vetrimaaran's next with Soori to be based on Na Muthukukumar's poem

The director is expected to start working on the much-awaited Vada Chennai 2, after wrapping the film with Soori

We had previously reported that Vetrimaaran will be working on a film with comedian Soori in the lead and it will feature him in a never-before-seen role. It has come to light now that the story of the film has been inspired by a poem taken from Late Na Muthukumar's book Pattampoochi Virpavan.

The plot will reportedly revolve around events that happen during the funeral of an old man. The film will be bankrolled by Elred Kumar's RS Infotainment More details on the cast and crew are expected soon. 

Soori, was recently seen in Sivakarthikeyan's Namma Veetu Pillai and is awaiting the release of the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Santathamizhan

Vetrimaaran's Asuran, starring Dhanush in the lead, was released today and the film has been receiving positive word of mouth from the critics and the audience. The director is expected to start working on the much-awaited Vada Chennai 2, after wrapping the film with Soori.
