Abhishek Bachchan will star in an upcoming Kahaani spin-off titled Bob Biswas. Originally played by Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee, Bob Biswas was a poker-faced serial killer who appeared in the 2012 thriller starring Vidya Balan. His chilly opening line — ‘nomoshkar, ek minute’ — became a catchphrase from the Sujoy Ghosh directorial. 

The spin-off will be directed by Sujoy’s daughter, Diya Annapurna Ghosh. The film will be co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Bound Script Production. 

Gaurav Verma, Chief Operating Officer of Red Chillies Entertainment, says, "Bob Biswas is easily amongst the most iconic movie characters in recent memory. With Abhishek taking on the portrayal of Bob and Diya helming the film as director, we are excited to give further shape to such an extraordinary character."

Bob Biswas will go on floors in 2020 and get a release the same year.

Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan. His upcoming films are The Big Bull and Anurag Basu’s untitled next.
