It looks like Sivakarthikeyan’s Hero might face a delay in its planned release as a complaint has been filed at the Madras High Court Arbitration Centre. The complaint, filed by TSR films private limited, claims that certain ‘stakeholders in production’, have not paid a debt of Rs 10 crore.

Subsequently, the arbitration centre has issued a directive to hold the the film’s release until the dispute is sorted. Further details on the case are awaited.

However, the producers of Hero, KJR Studios have re-confirmed that the film will be released as planned on December 20. In a statement, the legal councsel for KJR Studios has disclosed that the complaint is against 24 AM studios, and questioned its validity as the latter is not associated with Hero.

The statement also clarifies that KJR Studios has no contract in place with 24 AM or TSR Films pertaining to this film.

Directed by PS Mithran, Hero sees Sivakarthikeyan turn into a masked vigilante/superhero for the first time. The film also has Abhay Deol playing the antagonist and Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead. Incidentally, Hero will mark Abhay Deol’s debut in Kollywood.
