Madras, Kabali-fame Hari Krishnan to play the lead in Pa Ranjith's next production venture

This yet-to-be-titled film is said to be directed by debutant Bhaskar Sami

We had earlier reported that director Pa Ranjith is teaming up with Badri Kasturi to produce the debut film of yet another assistant of his, Suresh Mari, starring Aravind Akash and Kalaiyarasan in the lead roles. Now, we have news about yet another production venture of the Kaala filmmaker. This yet-to-be-titled film, to be produced under his Neelam Productions banner, is said to be directed by debutant Bhaskar Sami.

Actor Hari Krishnan, who shot to fame with his performance as the former gangster Johnny in  the Ranjith-directed 2014 political drama, Madras, has been signed to play the lead in this film. Other details regarding the cast and the crew are yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, Ranjith is working on the pre-production of his first Bollywood film, the biopic of Birsa Munda, the legendary tribal revolutionary leader. Ishaan Kattar, brother of Shahid Kapoor, plays the titular role in this project.

On the production front, Ranjith is awaiting the release of his assistant Athiyan Athirai’s directorial debut, Irandam Ulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu, starring Dinesh in the lead.
