Dhanush's Hollywood debut film, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, will be released in India, US, Canada, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Nepal on June 21. Based on the novel, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe by Romain Puertolas, the film is directed by Ken Scott.

The film has been dubbed in Tamil due to Dhanush's popularity in Kollywood and this version has been titled Pakkiri.

The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir revolves around the life of Ajatashatru Lavash Patel, played by Dhanush, a street magician and trickster from Mumbai who embarks on an extraordinary journey in search of his father.

The comedy-adventure film premiered at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) in 2018. Its poster was unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival last year.
