Abhimanyu Singh will be playing the main antagonist opposite Akshay Kumar in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. The actor, who made his Bollywood debut in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Aks and was recently seen in the Sridevi-starrer Mom, has already started shooting for the film.

Speaking about how he landed the part, Abhimanyu informs, “It began when Rohit saw my 2017 Tamil action-thriller Theeran, which was based on a true story. He liked my performance in that film and thought that I would fit the role of the baddie in Sooryavanshi. It so happens that I live near Rohit’s office and one day, he called me over and congratulated me for bagging the part.”

Sooryavanshi stars Akshay in the role of ATS chief Veer Sooryavanshi. The film is an extension to Rohit’s interconnect cop universe, which includes the Singham franchise films and Simmba
