As Mammootty’s Maamaankam moved into its final schedule, one of its cast members expressed his excitement about the part he is playing in the big-budget historical epic. Unni Mukundan, who is playing a pivotal character called Chandroth Panickar, says the role brought him out of his comfort zone.

In a Facebook statement, Unni wrote: “Had it not been for #ChandrothPanickar, I wouldn’t have realised the potential of my mindset! The urge to be the man he is, pushed me into a phase where I could see myself change to something that I myself never saw! It’s not just the physical change that has excited the actor in me, it’s the emotional toughness that this guy showcases which got me out of my comfort zone and has brought the best in me!!! I’m super excited for @maamaankam_movie and equally thrilled to see myself as Chandroth Panickar. I really pray that my excitement pushes me to bring the best in front of you guys!”
