A day after the release of Mahesh Babu-starrer Maharshi, the makers of the film were in for a rude shock, after a filmmaker claimed that the plotline of Maharshi has been borrowed from his story. Sriwass, a popular director in Telugu film industry, claims that he had earlier wrote a premise similar to the one been used in Maharshi by director Vamshi Paidipally.

Although he did not approach the Telugu Film Directors’ Association and lodged any complaint in this regard, Sriwass reportedly met one of the producers of the film, Dil Raju, to get a larger picture on the issue. A source says, “Sriwass was shocked when he came to know that a plotline that he had earlier imagined, had reportedly been included in the premise of Mahesh Babu-starrer Maharshi. He met Dil Raju, who seemed surprised with the contention and acknowledged that the plotline of Maharshi is similar to that of the premise from Sriwass' story.”

The Saakshyam director, who shares a cordial relation with Dil Raju ever since they collaborated for Rama Rama Krishna Krishna got a word of promise from the producer. “The duo have resolved to not pursue the matter further and sort out the differences amicably. The producer offered him a project in his banner and the director could not refuse this proposal,” the source adds. With the film not getting encouraging reviews, will Dil Raju take Sriwass' case seriously?
