Director Balaji Shakthivel, who is known for films like Kaadhal, Kalloori, and Vazhakku En 18/9, is now working on his next project, which will feature Chandini as the female lead. The shoot has been in progress for two months, and a source close to the project tells us that the project is 90 percent complete. 

Balaji’s last directorial was 2012's Vazhakku Enn 18/9, which received the National Award for Best Tamil Film. 

The filmmaker will be seen in an important role in Vetrimaaran’s Asuran, starring Dhanush and Manju Warrier. He plays an inspector in the film and this is said to be his first full-fledged role. 

Chandini, on the other hand, was last seen in Kadhal Munnetra Kazhagam and has several projects in the pipeline.
