Srikanth -- an actor known for his romantic roles in the past -- is all set to play a cold-blooded villain in Raai Laxmi's next, a crime-thriller titled Miruga. The film will be helmed by debutant director Parthiban, an erstwhile assistant of Bala.

Raai Laxmi will be seen as a rich widow staying in an estate, while Srikanth will play a ruthless sadist, who takes pleasure in harassing people, and murders them for money. The two get engaged, and the resulting chaos is reportedly the essence of Miruga.

The film is written by MV Paneerselvam, who will also be doubling as the cinematographer. Interestingly, Paneerselvam has previously worked with Srikanth on films like Roja Koottam and April Maadhathil.

Miruga, which went on floors in December last year, is currently in its last leg of shoot. The VFX-heavy film has been shot in Pollachi, Masinagudi, Ooty, and Goa.
