Prasanna, who was last seen in the 2018 film, Kaalakoothu, will now be a part of an original web-series for ZEE. Titled Thiravam, the series will revolve around a man from Tamilnadu, Ravi Prakasam (played by Prasanna), who invents a controversial herbal fuel a.k.a Mooligai petrol, and subsequently gets embroiled in a forgery case for monetising the same.

Sources suggest that the series is inspired by the life of P Ramar Pillai, a school drop-out hailing from a village in Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu, who shot to fame in 1996, when he claimed that he had invented an entirely herbal fuel that did not use any petro-chemicals. Twenty years after he first began selling his ‘herbal fuel’ under the brand name of Ramar Petrol, a CBI Court convicted him for fraud in 2016.

Thiravam, directed by popular cinematographer Arvind Krishna, also stars Indhuja, Kalaiyarasan, Kaali Venkat, John Vijay, Swayam, and Nagendra Prasad. The series is all set to premiere on May 21.
