Joe Russo wants to helm a Batman film

Director Joe Russo, who has been doing a series of interviews after the success of Avengers: Endgame, has revealed in one of them that he would love to direct a Batman film. In an interview, he answered the most popular fan question - What is the DC movie that Russo would be willing to take on? The director said, "Batman was one of the DC characters I collected as a kid. So it would have to be Batman."

Alongside his brother Anthony Russo, the filmmaker is one part of the Russo brothers duo, television directors most famous for their work on the sitcom, Community. The Russo brothers debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and, after the success of that film, went on to direct Captain America: Civil War, last year's Avengers: Infinity War, and then Avengers: Endgame, the last of which has now become the fastest film to break into the $2 billion club and is poised to overtake Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time.

Meanwhile, DC's The Batman will be written and directed by Matt Reeves, known for helming the Planet of the Apes franchise.
