Simbu aka STR gives green signal for VZ Durai's Thotti Jaya sequel

CE Features

Simbu is set to join hands with director VZ Dhorai for a sequel to their 2005 gangster thriller, Thotti Jaya.

"Simbu has given his nod for the first draft of Thotti Jaya 2. Dhorai, who is currently working on the subsequent rewrites, is in search of a suitable producer for the project. The film will go on floors as soon as Simbu completes shooting for Maanadu and the Mufti Tamil remake, co-starring Gautham Karthik. Kalaipuli Dhanu, who produced the original, has no issues with Simbu using the title for the sequel," says a source.

Simbu is expected to start shooting for the Mufti remake, bankrolled by Studio Green, and directed by debutant Narthan after wrapping up Venkat Prabhu's Maanadu. Dhorai, who recently helmed the 2018 Samuthirakani-starrer, Yemaali, is currently awaiting the release of the Sundar C's Iruttu.
